When you’re in New Orleans, there is always something to do! But with the Fourth of July falling on a Tuesday this year, you may be wondering how you should spend the weekend before the holiday. Whether you are a local or a visitor, there are several great options in Uptown for enjoying your Fourth of July weekend in New Orleans.
Take a Streetcar Ride through Uptown
There is nothing like a relaxing streetcar ride to remind you of the beauty and history of the Crescent City! Running for more than 150 years, the St. Charles streetcar line is the oldest continuously operating streetcar line in the world and has been designated a National Historic Landmark. See our live oaks and antebellum mansions as well as Tulane University, Loyola University, and Audubon Park as you ride through Uptown. For more information, go to the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority’s website.
Visit the Pontchartrain Hotel's Hot Tin Rooftop Bar
For an unbeatable 270-degree view of the Mississippi River and downtown New Orleans, the Pontchartrain Hotel’s Hot Tin rooftop bar is a must. It opens at 4pm Monday through Thursday and at 2pm Friday through Sunday, which makes it a perfect place to stop for pre-dinner cocktails or champagne.
Explore Magazine Street Uptown
The hugely popular Magazine Street is a frequent destination for both tourists and locals in Uptown. You can find your next meal or drink at the numerous restaurants and bars, but an even bigger attraction is the many and varied shops that populate Magazine Street. Glassware (Regular glassware $10, beer pitchers $45, add $2 for monogramming)

Summer is here, which means it’s the perfect time to treat your dad to a trip to the beach. Start a Father’s Day tradition he’ll love by spending quality time together relaxing in the sun, playing volleyball or bocce ball, cooling off in the water, and sharing a picnic lunch. Don’t forget to give him one of our beach spikes to keep the sand out of his drink on his special day.

Join us this Saturday for our second off-site adoption event! With our last event being such a success, we’re partnering up again with local nonprofit LA-SPCA in hopes that shelter animals will go to a happy and loving home.
LA-SPCA has been serving the New Orleans area for over 125 years and has been committed to
the needs of homeless and abandoned animals. They believe animals of all kinds should have
the freedom from thirst and hunger, discomfort, injury, pain or disease, and freedom from fear
and distress. They are comprised of employees and volunteers alike who share these same
beliefs and hope to get these animals out of the shelters and into the arms of new owners.
During this off-site adoption event, there will be cats and dogs present and ready to go home.
We will be gifting a dog collar and leash set to the owner of the newly adopted pups. We’re
even throwing in a $65 NOLA Couture gift certificate just in time for the holiday season! So
come join us this Saturday, November 19th from 11am to 3pm at our Magazine St. location
(2928 Magazine St, New Orleans, LA 70115) ready to bring home a furry companion.
This week we’re headed to Texas for the well-loved event of the Nutcracker Market, held November 10 – 13th in Houston. Since 1981, this cherished event has raised $53 million for the Houston Ballet Foundation which has helped the foundation offer scholarships to students who may not be able to afford the education otherwise. Just last season this money allowed approximately 300 students to pursue their dream of dance. It has also enabled them to take their talents nationally to places like Chicago and Las Vegas
With hundreds of merchants in attendance, 10% of all merchandise sold will be donated to this cause along with all the proceedings from admissions. You’ll be able to find us at booth 218! We’ve thoroughly enjoyed attending this event in the past and we are excited to venture back to Texas once again and to donate to this charitable cause. So whether you’re in Texas already, have family or friends you know who would love to attend, make sure to come visit us and experience the wonder of the Nutcracker Market!
